Delhi Blast: “Suddenly, there was a loud explosion,” says an eyewitness from Prashant Vihar, describing the scene just moments before the blast.

Delhi Prashant Vihar Blast: Just two months after a blast outside the CRPF School in Prashant Vihar, another explosion has shaken the area. Around 11:48 a.m., a powerful blast occurred in front of Bansi Sweets, leaving nearby residents in panic. An eyewitness described the explosion as extremely loud, causing widespread fear in the vicinity.

New Delhi: Another explosion was reported in Delhi’s Prashant Vihar on the morning of November 28, just two months after a blast occurred outside the CRPF School in the same area.

The latest blast happened around 11:48 a.m. in front of Bansi Sweets, causing shock and panic among residents. Many rushed out of their homes in fear after hearing the loud explosion. An eyewitness at the scene described the blast as “sudden and extremely loud,” leaving the entire neighborhood shaken.

What the eyewitnesses said:
The primary eyewitness, Krishna Kumar Gupta, shared his account when spoken to by Jagran reporter Dharmendra Yadav. He mentioned, “It’s part of my daily routine to visit the park around 11:30 AM. As soon as I reached the gate, there was a sudden blast.”

When Krishna Kumar was asked how loud the blast was, he replied, “It was very loud. Some people said it was a tire explosion, others claimed it was a bomb. However, he could not confirm what caused the blast. He mentioned that a car was parked nearby, and the driver checked his vehicle before turning around and driving away.”

Regarding the comparison to last month’s explosion, Krishna Kumar said, “This blast was more intense, but…”. When asked if the car driver was hurt, he clarified, “No, the car driver was fine, but a tempo driver was injured.” On being asked about the smoke, he added, “There was a lot of smoke and a lot of dust in the air.”

When asked if the explosion was similar to the one near the CRPF school last month, he responded, “It was probably more intense than that one, but it was also very loud. In the previous blast, the car windows had shattered, but nothing like that happened here.” He further explained, “There were some street vendors around, but they weren’t harmed. The explosion occurred right by the park gate.”

Another eyewitness, Balwant Jain, shared, “Yes, I heard it too. There was a loud noise, and we were in the park. We came out, but no one was injured.”

A third eyewitness, Bhim Sen Jain, described the event: “We were sitting on a bench in the park, talking when we heard the loud blast. Someone mentioned that a tire had burst, but we knew that kind of sound wouldn’t happen with just a tire.”

He continued, “The blast was loud, and initially, black smoke emerged, followed by white smoke that rose high into the air. No one was near the spot of the blast. The vendors were nearby, and everyone else was in the park.”

Bhim Sen further mentioned, “When the smoke cleared, people gathered around and speculated that the car’s battery had exploded. We questioned that, as the car didn’t appear damaged.”

When asked about the source of the blast, Bhim Sen stated, “We still don’t know. The blast occurred right on the road. Some people are saying it happened in a car, others in a tempo. But both the car and tempo seemed fine, so it’s unclear where exactly the explosion happened.”

Mamata Banerjee responds to attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus: ‘Supportive of Modi government’s stance on the matter.’

Bangladesh Police have detained ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, escalating tensions further.

The arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a monk from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), along with rising attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, has sparked strong responses from Indian leaders. They are urging prompt action from the Narendra Modi government and international organizations.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her support for the Central government on Thursday regarding the ongoing situation, as reported by news agency ANI. Speaking in the legislative assembly, she stated, “We do not want any harm to come to any religion. I have been in contact with ISKCON representatives here. Since this involves another country, it is the responsibility of the Central government to take appropriate action. We stand united with them on this matter.”

On Wednesday, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee and senior leader Saugata Roy strongly denounced the attacks in Bangladesh, urging swift action. “The events in Bangladesh are extremely unfortunate. The Central government must respond firmly,” stated Abhishek Banerjee.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also condemned the violence, asserting that the interim government of Bangladesh is “under the influence of fundamentalists.”

He called on the United Nations to intervene, stating, “The attacks on Hindus and the arrest of religious leaders are cruel and intolerable.” He also criticized Opposition leaders for their silence, accusing them of showing double standards when addressing communal violence.

On Monday, Bangladeshi authorities detained ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari near Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. This arrest, along with ongoing violence against minority communities, has further escalated tensions.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs voiced “serious concern” over the denial of bail to the ISKCON monk and called on Bangladesh to safeguard its minority communities. “We fully support the government’s stance on this issue,” stated BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra during a press conference.

Meanwhile, Opposition leaders took a critical stance against the government’s handling of the situation. Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic effectiveness, saying, “India’s influence in the region is diminishing. Why is the Prime Minister silent as Hindus in Bangladesh endure persecution?”

Violence erupted in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, during a mosque survey, with stone-pelting incidents reported and tear gas used to control the situation.

Supreme Court lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain filed a complaint alleging that Mughal emperor Babar destroyed the Hari Har Mandir temple, which was originally located at the site of the Shahi Masjid at Uttar Pradesh.

On Sunday, a violent clash broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal when a group protested against the survey of a mosque. The survey was initiated following a court order based on allegations that a temple had been demolished by the Mughals to construct the mosque.

Hundreds of protesters gathered near the Shahi Jama Masjid as the survey team arrived and opposed the proceedings. The situation escalated when the crowd began pelting stones at the survey team, despite heavy police presence

The head of the Jama Masjid made an announcement from within the mosque, calling on the crowd gathered outside to disperse. Despite his appeal, the protesters continued their demonstration. Senior police officials also tried to calm the situation, but their efforts failed, and the crowd resorted to stone-pelting.

“The survey in Sambhal is being conducted under court orders. Unfortunately, some anti-social elements have thrown stones. Police and senior officers are on-site, and the situation is under control. The police will identify those involved and take appropriate legal action,” said Uttar Pradesh’s top cop, Prashant Kumar.

Despite the unrest, the Advocate Commission successfully completed the survey. The entire process was documented through videography and photography, according to Sambhal District Magistrate Rajender Pensiyia. The Commission is scheduled to submit its report to the court on November 29.

The survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid was conducted after Supreme Court lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain filed a court complaint alleging that the mosque was once a temple.

The area has been under heightened tension for several days, leading to the deployment of a heavy police presence. Prohibitory orders have been enforced, restricting gatherings of more than five people.

A similar survey took place on November 19, with local police and members of the mosque’s management committee in attendance.

The court complaint, filed by Vishnu Shankar Jain, alleged that the Hari Har Mandir temple once stood where the mosque is located and that Mughal emperor Babar partially demolished it in 1529.

Vishnu Jain and his father, Hari Shankar Jain, have previously represented the Hindu side in several high-profile cases related to places of worship, including the Gyanvapi-Kashi Vishwanath dispute.

In response to the tensions, the district administration on Saturday required 35 individuals to sign bonds of up to Rs 10 lakh to ensure peace and order. Authorities take such action when they suspect someone may breach peace, disturb public harmony, or commit a wrongful act.

“I never thought Maharashtra would take this path,” said Uddhav Thackeray, reacting to the NDA’s massive surge, which he compared to a ‘tsunami.’

Pointing to critical problems like farmers' struggles and joblessness, Uddhav Thackeray expressed skepticism about whether these concerns had been adequately tackled to explain the massive electoral shift towards the NDA.

Uddhav Thackeray, chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed skepticism over the Mahayuti alliance’s monumental victory, questioning what justified such a “tsunami” of votes as the NDA retained control of Maharashtra with a decisive win in the assembly elections.

Addressing the press, Uddhav thanked the people of Maharashtra for their backing but was surprised by the magnitude of the NDA’s success.

“The outcome wasn’t just a wave; it was a tsunami,” he said

At the time this report was published, the NDA was leading in over 230 seats, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) struggled to keep pace, trailing with leads in only about 60 constituencies.

Reflecting on the opposition’s earlier success in the Lok Sabha polls, Uddhav Thackeray noted that the MVA had performed far beyond expectations, delivering a significant setback to the BJP. However, he questioned how such a drastic shift could occur within just four months.

Addressing the state’s pressing issues, Uddhav highlighted the ongoing struggles of farmers and the persistent problem of unemployment, expressing doubts about whether these concerns had been adequately addressed to justify the NDA’s massive electoral wave.

“Farmers are still in distress, and unemployment remains high. What exactly have they done to deserve this kind of tsunami?” he asked, adding that he didn’t believe slogans like Batenge Katenge had played a decisive role in the BJP’s campaign success.

“I congratulate them on their success and hope the Ladki Bahin Yojana is carried out sincerely, not just as a pre-election promise. I also urge them to ensure farmers’ debts are cleared and that all their commitments are honored,” Uddhav Thackeray said.

He expressed profound disappointment over the MVA’s poor electoral outcome, stating, “It’s hard to believe that Maharashtra, which supported me and trusted my leadership during the tough COVID-19 period, could respond like this.”

Uddhav also raised concerns about the circumstances of the elections, noting that they were conducted before the Supreme Court issued its judgment on the Shiv Sena’s name and symbol dispute.

“They went to the polls with the name and symbol intact. We need to critically evaluate how such a result came about,” he said.

Commenting on the possibility of Devendra Fadnavis becoming the Chief Minister, Uddhav observed that the BJP’s commanding victory made it likely that a BJP leader would take the position.
